You will be working with supportive, dynamic, dedicated geriatricians in one of the highest achieving trusts. We welcome all applicant including those with preference for less than full time working.

Responsibilities

-You have to take responsibility with other Consultants for the recruitment, appointment, and supervision of junior medical staff in accordance with Trust policies.

  • -To spend time on a regular basis for teaching and training of junior medical staff and allied health professionals.

-To devote, through agreement, time on a regular basis for teaching and training of medical students as part of agreed teaching agreement with University of Leeds School of Medicine.

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a relevant position;
  • A minimum of 4 years full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time of flexible basis) at least 2 of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty
  • A degree in Medicine
  • Good command of the English language (B2 Level);
    Excellent communication skills;
  • You are interested in other cultures and are flexible to easily adapt to different environments.
    Shall have completed a minimum of 4 years’ full time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part time or flexible basis) at least 2 of which will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee in a relevant specialty; OR shall be able to demonstrate achievement of equivalent experience or competencies. 
  • Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English that are satisfactory to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues which could be demonstrated by one of the following:
  • That applicants have undertaken undergraduate medical training in English: OR have the academic International English language testing System (IELTS)- Overall 7.5, Speaking 7, Listening 7, Reading 7, Writing 7.
  • To, at all times, comply with the GMC requirements of Duties of a Doctor & Good Medical Practice
  • To participate in the Trust’s mandatory training programme
  • You have to be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK.
